President's Message
LACP President
Chief Ron Schleuter
Monroe Police Department
Welcome to the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police website. LACP was formed in 1966 to represent the interests and concerns of police chiefs and their commanding officers throughout Louisiana.
Since its beginning, LACP has grown to over 350 members. The association has developed into a strong voice for law enforcement through its professionalism, legislative actions, and professional training programs.
All Louisiana Chiefs of Police and Command Officers are afforded the opportunity to take part in regularly scheduled training sessions. These regional conferences are held at least three times a year and feature experts in all areas of the law enforcement profession. Not only do these sessions provide excellent learning opportunities, but also allow for networking between members. This fellowship provides members with an insight into how other agencies operate.
By utilizing this website, chiefs will be informed of all upcoming events, including training sessions, legislative information, conference schedules, and many other items of interest. Registration forms for upcoming events will be available online to make registration more convenient.
If you are not a member of LACP, and are qualified to be one, I invite you to contact our State Office or look into the membership benefits posted on this website. There is also a membership application available for printing posted here as well.
We are concerned about the public we serve and we show it through our actions. We are the voice of professional law enforcement executives in Louisiana.

Our Mission
To advance the science and art of police administration and crime prevention, to develop and disseminate improved administrative and technical practices and promote their use in police work, to foster police cooperation and the exchange of information and experience among police administrators throughout the world, to bring about the enlistment and training in the police profession of qualified persons, and to encourage adherence of all police officers to high standards of conduct.
